PATIENCE

 

Possessing the patience to let life develop, evolve,

and form itself into meaningful action is an art

and a divine blessing – for rushing a dream, yet

formed, creates confusion rather than clarity.

 

Patience to let life find its most positive path –

to explore the potential possibilities – to test

the varied waters – to try on each eventuality;

and when complete, return with the optimal

solution, knowing only greater good can spring

from its becoming.

 

Patience to let life surprise you, mystify you,

with its unthought of opportunities, coincidences,

synchronicities, and sheer genius, when it has

had time to make its connections, pull in

its favors, open the locked doors, preparing

you for what you have always deserved –

heaven on earth.

STEP BACK THEN FORWARD

Today let us step back and take a moment

to gain perspective on all those aspects of

our lives that create concern, appearing to be

working less than hoped for or expected -

to see them fresh and fully once more,

allowing each to be what it is without

stress, anxiety, or confusion.

 

As we step back, let us release our

preconceived notions of what should be

happening or occurring, and consider,

instead of, how we might incorporate this

less than suitable situation into our

lives now – working the unworkable

into a new, fresh approach.

 

Let us, in turn, step forward today

with this fresh approach willing to live

with and through these less than perfect

moments, allowing each to evolve and

find its proper place, as we grow stronger

from the challenge – wiser from this

unwelcome inconvenience.

Having watched too much college and professional

basketball,  I was fascinated and focused this

year on the phrase  - "in transition" - used by

the coaches and commentators to describe

the process of traveling full court to shift

from defense to offense, or vice versa, where 

the team has to move to their own or the

opposing team's basket.  Much of the game, 

and many of the exciting fast break plays 

originate in this place of transition.

 

In reality, many of us may exist in our own

professional,  personal, and/or spiritual lives

"in transition," where what worked in the past 

may now seem somewhat dull and lack-luster,

leaving us to wake each morning wishing we

could alter in some way this life we now lead, 

even if we are not quite sure how. It is often 

challenging to approach these days with

enthusiasm and a sense of purpose.  

 

Finding myself at such a crossroads, I find

that this note below from 2013 offers a piece 

of very sound advice - "stay on purpose,"

especially when in a time of transition. 

 

IN TRANSITION

 

Today stay on purpose, refusing

to be knocked off course by doubt,

self-questioning, or confusion –

reaching within instead to reconnect

with your inner values and sense

of mission.

 

Today stay on purpose, even if you

wonder whether this is the right

course, realizing that only through

right action will you be able to

discover the viable alternative

or the shift needed to find your

realignment going forward.

 

Today stay on purpose, knowing

within the contrast or friction

a spark of creative genius may

erupt and ignite your imagination,

lighting the way to a fuller perspective

where passion and enthusiasm

can once again take center stage.

PATIENT PROGRESS

 

Our best effort comes through patient progress,

calm and sincere activity directed at the goal

but not dependent on a schedule or fixed

expectation, knowing this unfolding is a state

of continuous awareness, reflection, and inner

growth, a consciousness forming and reaffirming

with each step forward.

 

Often, we fixate on the merits of the immediate,

the do it now; over and done with; complete;

finished; final; ready-aim-fire, hoping this speed,

this instantaneous result will ensure success.

But what is the operating cost of the rushed

as opposed to the relaxed, the contemplative,

the quietly allowed to evolve?

 

This move to patient progress will require a fresh

paradigm of achievement, success, and winning:

a realization that full accomplishment needs

complete immersion in the doing, allowing God

and truth to provide the guidance, insight, and

inspiration – to reveal a more complete and

worthy outcome.

All spiritual journeys must be based

on mind control in order to be effective.

Buddha knew this, Jesus knew this, 

the Sufi mystics knew this, the Christian

saints knew this, and we must each learn

it in our own way. 

 

This is the reason that I have dedicated

over a hundred pages of Book Two 

of the Finding God On The Trian Story

titled Control Of Consciousness on the

techniques needed for successful mind

control.    

 

It took me a lifetime to come to this

conclusion, finally expending a good

portion of my spiritual effort working

on marshaling the confusion within 

my own mind into a workable coherent

effort, so I can fully connect with God 

and my own internal divinity.

 

The garden of the mind must be tended

in order to create change in our lives,

as the note below conveys.  Through

meditation, prayer, and ongoing reflection

we must find the thought root that has

grown as a seed in the concrete of our

own consciousness, only to produce

a tree that now threatens to crack our 

life foundation. 

 

If you are feeling that some change must

be undertaken and a new seed planted,

or that just some weeding and pruning

is called for, the Affirmative Thought

below may help create the change you

are seeking. 

 

WORKING FROM WITHIN

 

All change happens in our minds and

thoughts first – where we must tend

to the seed we planted that grew into

the circumstance we now encounter –

the life we now live – the emotions

we now feel.

 

All successful change occurs as we

clear away the weeds in our mental

garden, prune or redirect the existing

thoughts, or when required, tenderly

cut back what exists, to clear the way

for a new approach or perspective

to take root.

 

All lasting change is worked from within

as we learn to adroitly navigate our

consciousness – pruning and planting

as needed, lovingly tending the blooms

of authentic purposeful life – forever

admiring our garden within.

Although, for the most part, I believe our minds

mean well when they barrage us with the potential

consequences, often negative, of what has been

done or left undone. I understand that controlling 

our thoughts, our consciousness, is essential for

reaching a state of balance where we can fully live

our authentic

lives.

 

I also understand that when I leave my mind

unattended,  I wake up as I did this morning 

with the list of potential life issues churning 

in an endless loop in my mind.  I always hope 

I will outgrow the need for mind control,

but I never seem to. So below, here is the note

I wrote as a reminder of where my mind needs

to be focused.

    

RECLAIMING OUR THOUGHTS

 

Today let us address and work to resolve

those issues in our lives that cause us

concern, worry, or at times fear –

clearing away any real or imagined

negative consequences, and by doing

so, removing these voices in our minds.

 

Today let us address the litany of dire

thoughts given center stage in our minds –

that create confusion and steal our joy –

impede our happiness – upset our peace

and leave us exhausted as we focus on

what might be, or could be, at some

dreaded future time.

 

Today let us step out of the future with

its potential calamities, or the past

with its critique of our missteps, and

into this now, today, our clean slate, our

fresh start, where life exists, God exists,

hope exists, taking constructive action

to reclaim our thoughts through affirmative

thought, action, and belief.

            lives - accepting that what we conceive

within our personal consciousness is

            reflected in the mirror of our existence –

knowing our thoughts and attitudes create

            our life experience.

 

Today let us claim responsibility for our

            thoughts – working to deflect the mental

chaos, the chaotic chatter, and the egos

            warnings – replacing them instead

with affirmative, positive, loving, and

           self-empowering thoughts and visions

until we imagine a world within, so appealing

            it takes root in our experience.

interactions with others to ensure only

            positive, affirming, life-giving energy is

FOREVER HOPEFUL

 

Life in perfect order exists only within

our dreams, a fleeting hope that comes

to mind then evaporates in an ever

changing and evolving reality – refusing

to be fixed in time or place – moving

instead chaotic forever onward.

 

Life, as planned, is a non-sequitur –

a hope wrapped up within a wish

that refuses to take into true account

the unexpected, thwarting even the

most carefully conceived foundation

and constantly requiring continual

adjustment.

 

Life well lived takes all this into the

calculation, knowing the unknown

variable will leave us guessing and

scratching our heads long after our

well orchestrated attempts go awry,

leaving us with only a heartfelt laugh

to see us through unscathed but

forever hopeful.

grounded in basic truth, enabling these

define our existence.

 

Today let us listen closely, watch intently,

live heartily, connect completely, opening

ourselves up to the whispered message

on the faces of all we encounter, the

universal voice within ready to share our

unique crafted wisdom, opening our hearts,

minds, and souls to this magnificent thought!
