PASSION IGNITED

 

Step forward and into the destiny

that awaits, full and delicious, no

delicate offering, instead large

portions of pleasurable life, with

each dish an aroma so appealing

our senses are startled by desire.

 

Faced with our birthright,

the culmination of a journey often

without reason, yet now, we see

the merit, the purpose, all that is

necessary is our robust participation,

a soulful affirming.

 

With this metamorphosis, endowed

with singular wherewithal, no call

to action ever shirked or cautiously

impeded; our steps are bolder, fuller,

deeper; our place in life more complete

and considered - our passion ignited.

pivot – noun - the central point, or shaft

on which a mechanism turns or oscillates.

 

verb – (pivots, pivoting, pivoted) no object

turn on as if on a pivot. (pivot on) depend on.

 

Life pivots on the present moment; for every

moment we exist – every moment we live –

we are presented with, as the note below

conveys, a pivot point. I believe it is exactly

within this moment, this pivot point, where

God exists, where we actually exist, where

all consciousness exists.

 

We each must, on our own, recognize

the opportunity offered by these present

moment based pivot points, learning how

to maximize their utility and as the adroit

basketball player often accomplishes:

stop dribbling, set one foot firmly as

the pivot, and then, swivel to reposition

our future efforts for more effective and

positive living.

 

 

THIS MOMENT

 

With every moment we are presented

with an opportunity to be more,

to choose our own unique direction,

to interpret our existence, to perceive

our future and manifest its very essence,

to lay the ties and trestles of this momentum,

to alleviate our suffering, to flourish

even with our burdens in tow, to soar

through our real or imagined constraints,

manifesting our magnificence.

 

With every moment comes a point of choice,

to propel forward or shrink into the malaise

of our fears and concerns, to boldly say yes

to life and living, to hold our worthy vision

before us, and with each deliberate chisel

stroke give this vision life and vitality,

thinking it into worthy existence – creating

a more wholesome and flourishing reality.

 

With very moment an opportunity, a choice,

a personal, spiritual refinement, renewal –

a chance to peer within, to grasp our purpose,

our meaning, allowing its significance

to stoke our enthusiasm, summon our joy,

as our purpose aligns with our will – life

synchronized, harmonious, as God’s love

assists our efforts, preparing the way

to our rightful destiny.

I often find life unbearable during spiritual

down times, when the still, small voice is

muffled or nonexistent, when my inspiration

runs dry, when I feel stagnant and incapable

of being creative.

 

At these times, I am not above complaining

during prayer and meditation in an attempt

to seek relief. I am usually sure there must

be a way to alter the situation. Often, the

response I receive reflects the sentiment

expressed in the note below titled Allow

What Is To Be.

 

In our culture of perceived scarcity and lack,

we expect, better yet, demand, productive

results, even in spiritual matters. But what

if we were to heed the advice below, and

realize that what is to be may be the answer

we are so actively seeking. Perhaps, this is

the message we need to incorporate into

our lives.

 

ALLOW WHAT IS TO BE

 

Allow what is to be, accepting its relevance,

its purpose, choosing to see its pertinence

at this point and place in time; rather than

assuming some failure of diligence or your

part; some lack of planning or organization;

rather than moving to alter or change schedules

to ensure a different outcome; to will a more

agreeable present: take a moment to allow

just what is to be.

 

Is it really more appropriate or efficient

to descend on this situation, circumstance,

or happenstance with a sense of dismay,

resentment, failure for its lack of productivity,

results, progress; why berate yourself, others,

or fate for this moment of time without

accomplishment, without something to show

for its existence; perhaps it is asking you

to just allow what is to be?

 

As you allow this, strive to realize that this

moment may be best spent as it is, unattended,

undocumented, unframed – without form or

purpose – just as it is – allowing what is to be –

realizing it may contain the truth, insight,

or enlightenment you are seeking.

I am finishing the final editing of what

will be the introductory book of a three

part FINDING GOD ON THE TRAIN –

NOTES ON ENLIGHTENMENT series,

this first book titled THE CRYSTAL

PATH. I believe this is the best approach

for my nearly eight-hundred-page Finding

God On The Train writing effort: simply

more readable and publishable.

 

This newly edited draft of Book One

of the series is being offered on the left

hand side bar of the Finding God

blog. Note: this first book of the series

comprises a redraft of the introduction;

along with chapters one through nine,

previously published of the blog’s

side bar as opening chapters of the

original writing effort.

 

I have been immersed in the closing

chapters of this first book, focusing on

the attainment of our own personalized

enlightenment - heaven on earth: a life

full of joy, peace, love, and happiness,

and I have been inspired to write the

following Affirmative Thoughts,

providing further instruction on fine

tuning these efforts.

 

Frankly, given my often sporadic efforts

in this direction, I can use the guidance.

Both of these Affirmative Thoughts serve

as a reminder that this enlightenment

we are seeking, does not need to be sought

in the external world, but rather is actually

self-possessed, described as “perfect

splendor resting beneath,” needing only

to be spiritually excavated.

 

This guidance appears to offer three steps.

Step one, is to be sure we are truly awake

and aware. Step two, prepare the way

through right thinking. The third step

is to reach out earnestly.

 

AWAKE AND AWARE

 

Let us wake to the full potential of our lives,

knowing we now have the ingredients

for complete, profound happiness and joy,

here and now, within our existing lives –

perfect splendor resting beneath

the sound and fury of our daily pursuits.

 

Let us first vow to live each day awake

and aware, by moving within the day,  

experiencing its flow, its rhythm, its

momentum, allowing ourselves to give

up forcing it to our wills, but rather

comprehending its true nature, listening

for its melody, seeking its harmony,

adjusting as warranted. 

 

Let us seek to observe rather than comment,

criticize, or command; seeing more deeply,

experiencing more profoundly, listening

more intently; refusing to be lost,

or untouched by the moment: knowing

each unfolding scene is a slice of life

requiring our complete involvement

and participation; our prize for staying

awake and aware.

THIS DAY

 

Let us approach this day

    with a clear mind and heart –

willing to prospect and mine

    each single mindful moment

    for the truths revealed; touching

with reverence every gem encountered.

 

Let us allow the flow of life

    to emerge clear and present –

to provide the motion and current

    needed to propel our forward

    motion, our potential progress,

our waiting destiny.

 

Let us not be impeded by fault

    or fiction or inner turmoil,

but instead approach this day

    ready to thrive, to soar,

    to become a clearer vision

of our truth personified,

to reach out earnestly for joy,

peace, love, and complete happiness.

maneuver - a movement or series of moves

requiring skill and care; a careful planned

scheme of action.

 

At times, I feel like I am progressing in slow

motion, as my plans, goals, and dreams

are left to linger on the side of the road

while I attempt to get my “self” in order.

 

When I am in this punch-drunk, stupor

state, I am quick to analyze all of the opposing

forces that are limiting my output and success.

Yet, rarely do I stand full faced in the mirror

and point to the culprit who has made off

with my enthusiasm and motivation.

 

And with this frame of mind I will pray

for God’s guidance, as I did a few days back,

taking my issue to God for some grace.

More often than not, I receive a message

that might have been conceived by William

Stephen Belichick, former lacrosse star

and now coach of the New England Patriots,

a message laying out a common sense,

but creative solution to my situation:

maneuverability.

 

As I read this message and work to

incorporate it, I have been accessing my

actual maneuverability, realizing I have

often dug a well honed rut, or better yet,

forged a rail, that I continue to ride, no

matter what the situation.

 

As I leave my rut/rail behind, and explore

on untethered,  I am surprised to see

opportunities that I have been missing,

closure I have been avoiding, and success

I have neglected.   

 

How’s your maneuverability lately?  

 

MANEUVERABILITY

 

The essence of success is maneuverability,

making adjustments as needed or desired,

shifting course to avoid pitfalls or negative

consequences, taking full advantage of positive

currents or momentum, open to every advantage,

aware of potential possibilities or oversights,

hands steady on the wheel, mind strategically

fixed on the destination, fully knowing what

is intended, with clarity of purpose and

performance; keenly transfixed.

 

This maneuverability often is the deciding

factor in the overcoming of diversity,

the unexpected, the setback, the uncharted

delay – assisting with an attitude prepared

for counter response and correction –

able to think creatively under pressure,

to maintain emotional balance, unafraid

of risk or consequence, locked and loaded

for success – with the face and soul of a

living hero, capable and courageous.

I think all of us, at times, approach life

tentatively, like a shy child stepping onto

the stage for the first time, and it is exactly

this hesitant manner that slows our progress,

whittles away our confidence, and leaves

us compromising rather than establishing

our well earned success.

 

Having received the note below titled

Be Expansive, while meditating this morning,

I realize it is time for some self-reflection.  

I am not timid when it comes to pursuing the

larger than life idea/project/dream, but then

I often stuff it into a box that is much too

confining, eventually neutralizing the

idea/project/dream to ensure it is quote –

manageable, feasible, doable – and I am

often content to live within the confines

of this self-created box, even if the final

results are less than desired. Guess it is

time to free my cramped undertakings by 

letting each go free range, thus, in my way,

testing the waters of being expansive.

 

BE EXPANSIVE

 

Allow the fresh ideas to flow today,

opening your consciousness to the vast

possibilities of this existence, be expansive,

shun the limitations real or perceived,

welcome the inspiration, the input,

the guidance available to enhance your

efforts, being bold in this exploration,

brainstorming with the fullness of infinite

intelligence – know you are the conduit

for the creative energy of God: so let

this force that propels all beingness incite

your imagination, let it set flame to your

wonder, embolden your claim to magnificence,

let it breathe the breath of the everlasting into

your perspective; as you grasp the throttle -

the thrust of life stretching to soar unhindered.

RESTORING ORDER

 

Let us take time today to replenish

what has been depleted, to restore

the order and energy of our divine

center, replenishing our balance,

our equilibrium, as we return to our

own place of peace and strength.

 

Let us take a moment to reconnect

with our God through prayer and

meditation, to open ourselves up to

the guidance of the still small voice

that expresses the wisdom we need

to regain our purpose, to ignite again

our mission, and proceed with

enthusiasm and strength.

 

Let us take our pursuit of happiness

seriously today, knowing that living

in alignment with our distinct nature

is at the very core of our attainment

of heaven on earth, so as we assess

our progress, let us adjust our actions –

replenishing, reconnecting, realigning

our souls in flight.

We exist within the incubator of new

life, we are nursed and weaned daily

on its possibilities,  just as our physical

selves are refreshed within by the cells

and systems responsible for our continual,

ongoing aliveness. Everything we need

or desire is being offered, provided –

set before us: all we need to do is reach

out in faith to grasp its potential. This day,

today, is not like everyday, or someday,

it is the day that offers us the wondrous

gift of  miraculous life. We must not

give up or into suffering, pain, the drone

of our negative thoughts - we, together,

must rise, grasp the hand of God, and

venture on to our true destiny.

 

NEW LIFE ARRIVES

 

When new life arrives, full, robust,

ripe with fresh flavors, scents and

sensations – let us lean into its crisp

message, listening to its guidance –

realizing our worthy next step is

foretold by its aliveness, prepared

to draw us forward.

 

As we proceed, let us abandon our

timidity, starkly engaging this possibility

without reserve or restrictions, spontaneous,

fully committed to allowing its earnest

potential to enliven our here and now,

to refresh all we are or will be.

 

Turning towards this tomorrow, let

us grasp all we are entitled to, reaching

deep into its offering, filling our souls

with its merit, its purpose, knowing

this is our destiny – our heaven on earth –

our greater good!

WHAT LIFE OFFERS WHEN

 

Often, the sheer momentum of change

consumes our focus, like the roller

coaster car, jerking, lurching, as it

climbs spasmodically towards

its precipice – willing or unwilling –

of no real regard – we are in for a ride.

 

Let us not resist, but fearlessly fling

our arms in the air, throw back our

heads, and with bellowing cries enjoy

the pure impact of life lived in real time,

bufferless, a thrilling injection of being.

 

As we do, we will recognize the distinction

between observer and participant –

pumping heart, adrenal clarity,  joyous

abandon, palpable purpose – aware

sincerely of what life offers when we leap

into its waiting possibilities.

Let us stretch our imaginations,

expanding our awareness of the

possibilities presented in our lives,

cautious not to overlook a perfect

prospect, a viable alternative;

remaining versatile and unbiased.

 

Today, let us realize all restrictions

and limitations are self-perpetuated,

refusing to be defined by lack or

perceived scarcity, turning our

attention instead to the true abundance

awaiting our careful examination.

 

So carefully, patiently, let us examine

any and all approaches to the future

life of our dreams, realizing a straight

line is not always the most efficient

route between two points, being open

to zigzagging or shortcuts when warranted.
