Today, let us each survey our world, assessing
whether or not the playing field of life is
balanced or tilted – supporting growth and
ascension, or creating frustration and despair -
justice for all or for the lucky few.
The answer I have received, demonstrated
once again in the note below, is that we are
called to spiritual activism, champions of all,
showing the courage to uphold justice, rather
than just escape to our chosen nirvana.
Granted, in our ego-driven world, this seems
like a fool's mission, yet, if we are not willing
to participate, why should God?
THE COURAGE TO UPHOLD
Perhaps at times we must engage our sense
of fairness, ensuring all concerned are treated
with equal portions of caring and respect,
a level playing field in an often tilted world.
Let us agree to proceed today as subtle
champions of equality and justice for all,
no one given a head start, or nonchalantly
left behind, knowing this true balance
is best for all concerned – allowing nature
and nurture to set the parameters rather
than class, ethnicity, or power.
And as keepers of this more uniform
existence, agree to set right what is
clearly wrong, raising our voices in
challenge when necessary, pushing
for reform even as others look the
other way, knowing real justice takes
courage to uphold.
