MAKING WAVES
Often we proceed with caution, living
our lives cautiously, afraid to make
waves or ruffle feathers, we then shrink
from confrontation, or direct pursuit
of what is truly warranted, what is
mandated, seeking a compromise long
before the conflict has even begun.
Today, let us consider throwing caution
to the wind, realizing it represents an
inhibition set in motion by our very own
fears and concerns, demonstrating a lack
of confidence in ourselves, along with
a less than grounded faith in the positive
nature of the world we inhabit.
As we do, yes, we will risk more, but
as we do, we will stand to profit more,
by choosing to approach full speed
before our trepidation applies the brakes,
by allowing our earnest momentum
to clear us for liftoff, ensuring our lives
burst into the vibrant display of unfettered
being, we so surely imagine and deserve.
