Most mornings over the past six years,
I have started the day by writing a New
Thought related note, like the one featured
below, for Ann my wife, hopefully providing
her with a positive perspective on her day,
and a little encouragement.
Early on, I realized that if I focused on my
breath, mindfully centered myself, and
asked for guidance for Ann, a note would
come to mind, and all I would need to do
was transcribe its inspired message.
I would do this without editing, often
amazed by the depth, the appropriateness,
but even more so, the universality of
the message. Over the years I have found
these notes to be a major component of
my own spiritual quest.
Regular blog readers are familiar with this
format, since I have published many of these
notes as Affirmative Thoughts on the blog,
while featuring others in the book, to
highlight or expand on a given topic.
Yet, the unpublished notes still sit in my
library in clear plastic containers with
blue lids, usually, one or two containers
per year, waiting for some attention.
As I was meditating, a few weeks ago,
asking what I might be doing to expand
my efforts, I felt guided to do a daily post
that would bring these notes out of the
containers, to be shared on my blog.
I decided to call this post a NewThought
NoteForTheDay, publishing without
comment, allowing each note to carry
its singular message, and see if these
notes would be meaningful and useful
on a more frequent basis, and as a result,
do some further good.
I would appreciate any feedback you
may wish to share to make this feature
more useful.
Here is the NewThoughtNoteForTheDay.
FRIVOLITY
Let laughter and fun be the order of the day,
stepping back to enjoy the moment and
those who are spending it with you,
allowing frivolity to capture your thoughts
and infiltrate your serious actions.
As you do, realize laughter and fun are
the essential lubricants for a productive
workplace, quickly clearing away the
friction produced by overwork, tension,
stress, and continual pressure.
So let go and enjoy this day, refreshing
your soul and spirit with a heartfelt laugh,
a well-placed joke, a bit of spontaneous fun,
loosening up so others will follow suit – just
watch as enthusiasm and creativity soar.
