I believe God sends messengers into the world to help

us grow, to push us to evolve, and at times to rock our

very existence. These messengers are spiritual heroes

who instead of sitting on the mountain top waiting for

nirvana risk everything to point the way – Moses, Jesus,

Gandhi, Mandela, and of course Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

who we salute today.

 

I would like to offer a series of Affirmative Thoughts

this week that I feel reflect the lessons I believe Dr. King

taught us, lived, and was willing to die for;  thoughts of love

and kindness, justice, and the greater good.

 

 For The Greater Good

 

Today work towards

positive solutions that

will create the greatest good

and benefit for all.

 

Look beyond the past

and into the heart of the issue –

listening for guidance

and direction from within.

 

Today know your efforts

for the greater good –

although not always popular –

are reasonable and founded

in love and kindness.

 

Today realize all solutions

in the end -  if done with love

will be for the greater good

of those you serve.

This week I have focused my daily posts on the topic

of healing and I feel compelled to suggest the reading

of two of my favorite books on the subject; Louise L.

Hay’s New Thought classic You Can Heal Your Life and

a new way to think of disease and illness offered by

Michele Longo O’Donnell in her book Of Monkeys And

Dragons – Freedom From The Tyranny Of Disease.

Both books remind us that all healing is and has always

been from within. They are both available at the 

 Spiritual Store on this blog.

 

What if we could really heal ourselves, cure ourselves

and believed it completely? Some people do like Louise

L. Hay and Michele Longo O’Donnell whose books are

referenced above, the rest of us either flat out deny

the possibility or are sitting on the fence.  But as I

often tell myself when I am sitting on that fence –

hasn’t the human body been designed for wellness,

health, and healing which for me is confirmed when

I watch the wound created by surgery heal and

regenerate over time before my eyes. Are we not

healing beings?

 

The Meditation Guidance I received on August 23, 2010  -

while sitting in my library at home and recovering from

extensive back surgery with a healing 14-inch scar on

my lower back - strives to confirm this point. I must be

honest and say that I have not perfected this technique 

 but I continue to try.

 

Your thoughts are welcomed as always.

 

                    

                       Heal Yourself

 

The power of the day is upon you – you can heal

yourself and heal the world through mind action. 

 

Place your hands on the issue or area in need of

healing – feel the warmth of God’s grace and

energy fill the space. Close your eyes and

meditate or pray and see the face of God in your 

 mind – focus on the face and the eyes in the

lavender splendor and say the following:

 

“I can heal myself and

               I can heal the world”.

 

As you say this prayer to God keep touching

and applying pressure on the spot that needs

healing and say:

 

        “God return this (AREA IMPACTED) to its

           perfect splendor – to its perfect grace -

           to its original creation. God through

           your power and energy I call

           this __________ into perfection".

 

Do this treatment every day – every time you feel a

pain - and as you believe,  it will be so. This is God’s

power and grace in motion. Moving through you –

from the divine self, your soul, connected with the

infinite mind into the perfection that was always

there - but lost during the negative thinking of the

existence of disease. Clear the thinking and you

will return to perfection.

 

Never doubt you will be successful.

As I focus on healing this week I have realized that it is

not only physical healing that we must encourage but

also at times the more painful emotional or psychic

healing. The torn relationship, the dream not dreamt,

the memory not forgiven, or the peak not reached. 

We often in a sense suffer wounds not of the body but

of the soul, often of our own making as we pursue the

ego’s script and move away from our inner voice. 

 

I believe the first step in healing begins with love for

ourselves and for the others who may have made us

consciously or without thought their victims. We need

to be both tender and gentle when dealing with all

wounds as they heal. I offer this Affirmative Thought

to help us all heal the wounds of life.

 

 

                 Tender and Gentle

 

Today be tender and gentle with yourself

    allowing your mind and body to heal –

    replenish and nourish  - to find balance 

    and strength as you meet the day.

 

Today be tender and gentle with yourself

    focusing your thoughts on healing

    rather than striving – on oneness

    and wellness rather than the

    to do list – allowing you

    to gain sure footing.

 

Today be tender and gentle with yourself

    finding time for peace and silence

    to allow and enable the Spirit

    to energize your soul –

    to refuel your consciousness

    and make you whole.

 

Today be tender and gentle as you

    heal yourself!

Ann pushed herself again today, fighting

the remains of the flu, and made it into

work. I think I would still be resting

warm beneath the covers after making

a call to the boss, but again Ann displays

her strong work ethic and sense

of responsibility.

 

As I write this post I think of health, 

what an amazing gift it is, and how -

during the three surgeries I have had in

the past four years - it has been a quality

of life I have often envied of others.

Due to the wonders of modern surgery,

I sit here today with a rebuilt spine

minus one brain tumor - not dead 

or a quadriplegic - but fully functioning.

 

This is important for you to keep in

perspective as you read my posts

over the next few days on the divine 

guidance I have received on healing.

I have never been instructed to avoid

conventional medical treatment,

but instead, told to put my faith in the

doctors I was working with at the time, 

while being reminded, I did have the

power to assist with my healing,

if properly taped.

 

To avoid traditional medical care

would be like the joke where the man

is in a flood, on his roof top watching

the raging waters ascend, praying 

to God for help. He passes up three

chances to be saved, waiting for God's

answer, and when he gets to heaven

he asks God why? God says I sent you

a rowboat, a motorboat, and a helicopter -

what more could I have done!

 

God is working through modern medical

science, and we need to keep a holistic

approach to our health and healing.

Personally, I tried to shrink the size

of my Pituitary Tumor with extensive

meditation and prayer for over a year,

it only got bigger. It was removed

through non-invasive surgery

(through the nose) and I was up and

about after several days.

 

Today, I would like to start out with the

Meditation Guidance below titled the

Healing Power of God that starts with

a prayer and ends with some guidance

on healing.  Let me know how you view

this subject of  faith healing?

 

HEALING POWER OF GOD

 

The healing power of God is upon me.        

The healing power of God surrounds me.

The healing power of God anoints me.

The healing power of God is within me.

The healing power of God surges through

        every cell of my life, returning each to

        its perfect creation.

The healing power of God protects me

         from the thoughts of pain, disease,

         and illness.

The healing power of God makes me whole.

 

The cocreation of healing – returning to the

perfection of the original physical creation,

in form, is possible and easily obtained.

The return to perfection – to full health was

always intended by life, before its loss by

the thought of less, of vulnerability, of

disease – all of which are not possible

when working through God. Practice the

power of healing using this chant or

affirmation and you will be made whole –  

one – and return to perfection.

        

MAY THE HEALING POWER OF GOD

BE UPON ME - SURGE THROUGH ME - 

BECOME ME.  I AM HEALED!

As Ann was struggling to get out of bed

from her bout of the flu and make it into

work today, I wrote this note to support

her effort and her recovery. As I wrote

the note, I realized I have rarely focused

on healing and our spirituality in my

daily posts.

 

I am not a faith healer, but it appears 

medical science and God are beginning

to find each other - realizing true healing 

comes from both the science and the 

metaphysical.

 

I would like to offer this Affirmative

Thought below. and focus the next few 

posts on outlining the guidance I have

received regarding healing. In the note

below, I focus on the most notable spiritual

or faith healer of all time - Jesus as Christ -

who also happens to be the center of Ann’s

faith. Let me know your thoughts.

 

HEALING POWER

 

Wake this morning and open yourself to the

healing power of Christ – imagine his hands

upon your head cleansing your system and

restoring perfect wellness –

health to your life.

 

Wake this morning and reach out the hands

of your soul to touch his robe and

feel the energy of his healing make

you fresh and new.

 

Wake this morning healed and whole,

all aligned, ready to empower

your life with energy and enthusiasm –

ready to pick up and continue on

triumphantly.

 

Wake today and bask in the warmth of

Christ’s healing powers renewed!

Ann who is rarely sick came down with the Flu yesterday

and is still in bed recovering. I wrote this note for her this

morning and I think it addresses what we all need to do

at times when we are not feeling well or are just plain

exhausted – rest!

 

                Rest Without Care

 

Today let yourself rest without care

         or obligation allowing your essence

         to regenerate and reform itself

         to perfect wellness – well oneness –

         to connect with infinite strength

         and regain the power and balance

         you need to go on.

 

Today let yourself relax and rejuvenate

         slowing the pace and lightening

         the load you are carrying – let the

         burdens fall from your back –

         let the fears fall from your mind –

         let the worry dissolve into thin air

         and breathe an unencumbered

         breath without the load of the

         unnecessary.

 

Today rest and let yourself be refreshed!

     It is Friday after the first week back from the holidays.

Many of us I would guess are just glad to have made

it this far still recovering from the hustle of the season’s

festivities. Ann and I would surely include us in this cohort

but for some divine reason I wrote this note for Ann this

morning. Perhaps it was a wake up call for all of us to get

back on the road to enlightenment, or just wishful thinking

on my part.

 

    Inspire is one of those words that carries a spiritual

sentiment for me. The original definition for the word

was to “breathe or blow air into” usually reserved for

the act of a divine or supernatural being. Perhaps God

was trying to breathe some life into me so I would pass

on the inspiration. Whether we are ready or not to be

 inspired here is an Affirmative Thought that may help.

 

 

Inspire Yourself     

        

Inspire yourself today to push your consciousness

    and live every moment fully aware – without

    thought – without reaction – simply consumed

    with what is happening around you, mindful

    of the sounds, sights, and experience.

 

Inspire yourself today to expand your consciousness

    by turning off the automatic pilot in your mind and

    bringing fresh thoughts and enthusiasm to

    every activity.

 

Inspire yourself today by eliminating any resistance,

    doubt, or avoidance and plunging fully into the day

    you are living – submerged in its possibilities and

    potential.

 

Inspire yourself today and be a creative force for

    good in the world making everyone and everything

    better for having encountered you.

A Moment Of Silence - Affirmative Thought - Daily Post On Enlightenment

Occasionally I find it worthwhile to remind myself of the core

message I am trying to convey with this blog and the book

I am writing; simply, all of us can have a personal connection

and relationship with God. My goal is not to encourage you

to believe what I believe but to enhance what you believe by

offering a reminder that God, Spirit, Source, Infinite Mind, or

whatever term you prefer for divinity, waits for you in the

silence. Here is a reminder for me and anyone else who

may find it useful.

 

                     A Moment Of Silence

 

Today take the time to commune with God –

         a moment of silence to hear the whispered

         voice of love – to connect with your divine

         assistance and feel the presence and

        guidance waiting there.

 

Today become conscious of God in every move,

         with every breath co-creating life with you –

         moving with you to a fuller life to come.

 

Today know that God can do only good – create

          only the positive - and move forward with

         confidence and boldness knowing you are

        one with the divine.

 

Today walk with God and be secure!
